October 2026 – Believe in New Possibilities

October’s message encourages us to move full steam ahead and believe in possibilities with renewed excitement.

It is also time to take action with energy and aim for the stars.

Roger Federer

Roger Federer, one of the greatest tennis champions, known for his elegance and effortlessness on court, stated, “I dreamed of becoming either a tennis or soccer player, mostly a tennis player, winning Wimbledon, becoming No. 1 in the world… Once I achieved most things, the hunger remained to achieve”.

What are your dreams? What do you want to achieve in your life?

This is the question I asked myself when I received the message for October.

Having a dream is sometimes a hard thing to work towards. It means we need to look into the fire in our hearts and acknowledge a jewel that has always burned brightly, but sometimes has been ignored.

Why would we ignore a dream? Because it is scary.

We instinctively know that this means that we need to walk to the beat of our own drum and not concern ourselves with the judgment of those who may not understand us or who may express doubts about our ideas.

We also know that this will mean a lot of hard work and struggle, where we will fall down and need to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, reset and adjust to learning something about ourselves on the journey.

It is much easier to play it safe, be conservative and not make a big splash.

However, the greatest leaps forward have come when men and women chose not to play it safe. They faced their fears of failure, lack of self-worth and judgement, and honoured the flame that burned in their hearts.

Fire burns – it is what it is and doesn’t try to be anything else. If you light a candle and watch it, the flame will bend and twist in the breeze and even change colour, but it will dance to its own rhythm. It will be unconventionally itself.

A fire meditation for you to try

I spent a little time recently watching a candle burn. After making sure that my feet were flat on the floor to ground me, I took three deep breaths.

I let go of thoughts and feelings and just watched the flame.

I then allowed the energy of the flame to enter my heart and burn with a gentle warmth that felt both invigorating and comforting.

I allowed the warmth, light and energy to envelop me for a few minutes. Then I took three deep breaths again and said thank you to the flame.

I found the experience to be both calming, comforting, inspiring and fortifying.

Fire transformed humankind – for the cavemen and women in prehistoric times, this meant warmth, cooked food and security during the night.

Today we have those physical and emotional needs met; however perhaps now is the time to reignite the inner fire of our hearts as a way to connect with the Divine Light.

Fire has always symbolised the Divine, so perhaps we can use October to connect with the Divine and dream big once again.

The Message from Nature

On Monday, 26th October,  we will see the Hunter Moon rising in the East. Traditionally, this would be when Native Americans would stalk deer to prepare for the coming winter months.

The Native people would take the opportunity provided by nature and use it to ensure that their needs would be met for the future.

So, to summarise, the fast-paced energy of October offers us a time of possibilities, productivity, activity, excitement and action.

Will you allow the fire to burn in your heart and transform you?

Yours in the sacred fire of light, love and connection.

Peace Profound
