July 2026 – Quiet Observations

On Wednesday, 29th July, we will look up into the night sky and see the full moon –  the Buck Moon.

The name comes from the Native Americans who noticed that male deer (buck) who had shed their antlers in winter began to regrow their antlers.

Other names for this full moon are the Thunder Moon, pointing to the thunderstorms occurring during the month, and the Hay Moon, as the hay harvest is collected at this time.

Spiritually, July’s guidance is about waiting and watching, rather than forcing a new idea to manifest.

Ideas are like a wellspring; sometimes they flow, and when we have a new idea, it feels like we are filled with fire, enthusiasm, and passion.

However, sometimes life is more challenging – there are obstacles and thunderstorms. In these cases, it would be wise to pause, take a step back and evaluate our situation.

Obstacles in the road

Obstacles

Sometimes the obstacles in the road are there for a reason. If you walk along a road and it’s blocked by huge boulders, sometimes you have to stop and either wait for the road to be cleared or find another way.

During a thunderstorm, we observe the lightning and hear the thunder.

Lightning is a sudden discharge of electricity in the atmosphere. A lightning strike can heat the surrounding air to 30,000°C (54,000°F)!

The extreme heat causes the air molecules to expand very quickly and this sudden expansion creates a shockwave – the sound we hear – thunder.

Although a thunderstorm can be spectacular, with the sky exhibiting passion and fire, one wouldn’t want to be outside at this time.

Sometimes it is wiser to be an observer and wait it out, rather than a participant.

Thunderstorm

If you’re patient and wait for the storm around you to subside, then you will find a new path springing forth naturally for your emerging creativity and new ideas.

Yours under the sacred sky,

Bright blessings and profound peace,

/I
