The full moon is on Friday 5th May 2023, and it is called the Flower Moon.
There will also be a lunar eclipse.

Flower Moon
The Flower Moon is a pretty name for the beautiful sight of flowers that are springing up everywhere in nature. Traditionally this was the time to plant seeds for the harvest and enjoy being outdoors in nature.

Lunar Eclipse
Last month we experienced a solar eclipse and now this month we will also experience a lunar eclipse.
This is when the earth is between the sun and moon and casts a shadow over the moon’s surface.
Eclipses always intensify the energy!
Astrologically, the sun is in the earth sign of Taurus (the Bull) while the moon is in the water sign of Scorpio (the Scorpion). The archetype of Taurus is the energy of the lover and the farmer, while the energy of Scorpio dives deep and asks us to harness our strong emotions.

What does this Full Moon ask us to consider?
During the New Moon and solar eclipse, the energy was shaken up with fiery Aries and we were asked to let go of old negative beliefs and patterns and start afresh.
The Tarot message for May (Justice) now asks to focus on balance – listening to both sides of the story before jumping in to give our opinion.

So, how do we use the full moon energy to do this?
Shallow and superficial relationships will no longer satisfy us. We are being asked to dive deeper and delve into our feelings.
During this time, it is important to be aware that our emotions will be heightened, and we may feel a bit more emotionally sensitive and uncomfortable.
‘Do not let the behaviour of others destroy your inner peace’ – Dalai Lama
The key is to keep grounded – use the earth energy of Taurus to both literally and figuratively plant our feet on the earth.
We could go outside when we’re feeling unsettled (and even when we’re not), stand on the earth and look around at the abundance all around us. It will help to look at the flowers (really look), the leaves, the grass, the insects and the beauty that surrounds us and breathe.

Our souls are calling us to find inner peace. To do this, we can’t hide from or reject strong emotions. We need to feel them but we need to balance this by not allowing them to overwhelm us and be swept along with them like a mighty river.
So, allow yourself to rest and be mindful, so as to find inner clarity and emotional balance every day.
