February 2026 – Find Mental Clarity

Use the month of February to navigate day-to-day communication with discernment and balance. Watch your words and what you feed your mind.

You will need to use the sword of truth to cut through fallacies.

The Sword of Truth

Astrologically, February’s full moon, called the Snow Moon, occurs on Sunday, 1st February; and on Tuesday, 17th February, we will experience a solar eclipse, although you will need to visit Antarctica to see it.

In the Wheel of the Year, the 1st – 2nd February is the time to celebrate Imbolc (the beginning of Spring) in the Northern Hemisphere and the harvest festival of Lughnasadh in the Southern Hemisphere.

Mercury

In Roman mythology, Mercury was the messenger of the gods. He had jurisdiction over finance, commerce, messages, travellers and thresholds. He was also a trickster (akin to Loki in Norse mythology and Hermes in Greek mythology).

As a messenger, he was the one who oversaw daily communication – both the truth and the lies… and in today’s world, we certainly seem to be bombarded with stories, truths, half-truths and outright lies.

What is the sword of truth?

It is both a symbol and a tool to help us balance our will and our emotions.

It represents both the ability to reason and to communicate our understanding with clarity and thought.

During February, we may find that we are surrounded and bombarded by scrambled, confusing, vague information and mistruths.

We already know that misinformation is everywhere, and that the media feeds us only selected knowledge (based on what the algorithm and the government decide we should see and know). We don’t have to accept this!

social media

February will offer us the opportunity to navigate our way out of negative thoughts and words, confusion, lies, and tall tales of illusion.

But we need to be alert… so don’t just accept everything you read, hear or see in the media.

Choose your sources carefully!

And when these mentally turbulent and confusing situations arise, the fastest way to cut through the veils of illusion is to take a deep breath and give yourself some moments of mental space. If you are able, go outside, look up at the clouds or the moon and listen to the birdsong. Nature is your ally!

These moments of pause will allow you to invite clarity to drop into your heart and mind.

Once you have clarity, it will be easier to express yourself with thoughtfulness and kindness. It will also give you the sword of discernment to distinguish between the truth and the misinformation and lies.

I hope you enjoy Clair de Lune by Debussy, and I send you blessings of clarity during February.
