March New Moon 2025 – The Hero

On Saturday 29th March, we begin a new zodiac cycle. We are now in the constellation of Aries (the Ram).

We will also see a partial solar eclipse when the Moon will move in front of and block the Sun

Although the Moon won’t be visible, it will also be a Supermoon. This is when the Moon moves closer to the Earth and the lunar energies are more intense.

Aries is a fire sign, and fire symbolises our creativity and passion. Fire represents an active, yang, outwardly expressive or masculine energy

The story of the ram comes from the Greek story of The Golden Fleece. The Greek myth tells of how Jason and the Argonauts (warriors) were tasked with the quest of retrieving a magical fleece from a golden-winged ram. The fleece had once belonged to Zeus.

If Jason recovered the fleece this would allow him to reclaim his throne, which had been usurped by his uncle, King Pelios.

Golden fleece

Why a fleece? Fleeces were connected to magic and prosperity. They also represented royal power.

Overall, the story revolves around the value of teamwork, and bravery in overcoming obstacles.

Aries Energy

Aries represents the energies of the pioneer, warrior or hero.

The Aries Warrior

The shadow energies of the warrior or hero are:

  • The impulsive daredevil who acts with no thought to the consequences of their actions, nor how it will affect others.
  • The spoilt brat who is rude, offhand or disregards others’ feelings.
  • The bully who puts others down or manipulates them into getting their own way

In contrast, heroes show these traits:

  • Courage: the ability to face a scary situation head-on.
  • Integrity: sticking to strong moral and ethical principles, even when it would be easier not to.
  • Determination: perseverance, despite setbacks.
  • Humility: a lack of puffed-up pride.

The Hero Archetype

Carl Jung talked about the hero archetype. He described the hero as the person who overcame the monster of darkness. By this, he meant the conscious triumphing over the unconscious.

He also noted that the hero was on a quest – to find the princess, discover the treasure or in this case, the golden fleece.

But to be a hero, just like Jason setting sail with the Argonauts, the hero needs to leave the safety of their current experience, beliefs and internal programming.

They will then be able to undertake a spiritual journey that will reveal their true potential.

The hero archetype connects to The Fool in the Tarot deck. The word ‘fool’ does not mean idiot, rather it means:

  • New beginnings
  • Having faith in the future
  • Being inexperienced and not knowing what to expect
  • Willing to take risks
  • Willing to be guided by intuition.

The Fool

So, the question being asked of us at this New Moon time is: Are you willing to be the hero of your own life?

If your answer is ‘Yes’, then you start by allowing the Aries energy of fire, passion, and motivation to bubble up within your heart.

Step out into new beginnings and although you may feel inexperienced and may not know what to expect, this is a chance to grow and connect with your intuition.

Ask your Guides and Angels to show you the way to finding your golden fleece. Then look for the signs which will reveal to you the next step.

I send you blessings brave soul and thank you for reading this.
