The March full moon is on Friday 14th March 2025.
It is called the Worm Moon and this year, will also be a Blood Moon (a Lunar Eclipse).
This is also the closest full moon to the Spring Equinox (or Autumn Equinox for those in the Southern Hemisphere) – a time of balance.
This is the time of year in the Northern Hemisphere, where the evidence of Spring is all around us.
The snowdrops, crocuses, daffodils, and tulips are blooming, and the ground is softening – causing the worms to appear again.

Blood Moon
(Lunar Eclipse)
It is called a Blood Moon because of the reddish colour of the Moon.
This is due to a Lunar Eclipse, when the Moon moves into the Earth’s shadow.
Spiritually, a Lunar Eclipse usually marks the end or culmination of something and has the energetic strength of three Moons.
Astrologically, the sun is in the water sign of Pisces (the Fish), while the moon is in earthy Virgo (the Maiden).

Water signs symbolise feelings and emotions, while Earth signs focus on practical, physical, and financial matters.
Pisces invites you to tap into your intuition and dreams, while Virgo asks you to act with discernment, create order in your life and focus on your physical health.
So often we have dreams and ideas of what we want our bodies to look like, but how often do we positively manifest these dreams?
Physical health affects the body, mind, and emotions.
When you are physically ill or you don’t like your body, this impacts what you think and feel about yourself.
We all have ‘imperfect’ bodies – a bump here, a big this or small that, or crooked something else.

Some people struggle with digestive issues. Others suffer with skin, hair, nails, eyes, ears, nose, teeth, back, shoulders, hands, feet, knees, hips, heart, lungs, and hormonal difficulties.
It does not serve our highest good to compare ourselves to some idealised picture that we might have created in our heads of what we believe we should look like.

The road to improving our physical health is about self-compassion and self-acceptance, and this is the starting point for change.
As we water these seeds of self-love (see March New Moon for the meditation), we start to let go of self-judgement, and this energy can then be directed in a more positive way.
This means that we can begin to focus on small, everyday steps to look after our bodies in a more wholesome way – the food we eat, sleep, daily exercise, and being in nature all become activities we WANT to do, rather than we need to do.

It’s time to let go of the old ways of thinking about ourselves, and begin to accept, love and celebrate ourselves a little more each day.
