This morning I asked for a Tarot message that would show us what we need to focus on for the month of December.
The result was The 7 of Pentacles (Coins).
7 of Pentacles
Looking at Juliet Sharman-Burke’s deck, we see a man taking a break from his work in the field. He is dressed in the earthly colours of green and brown and he stands between 2 fields.
The field on his right shows a bountiful crop with 6 pentacles indicating well established success.
The field on his left shows only 1 pentacle and we see that the crops that have been planted are yet to grow into maturity, however there are hints of fertility in the symbol of the rabbit.
The number 7 is related to knowledge. and pentacles or coins connect to material possessions, wealth and earthly, practical, or financial matters.
So, what is the message for the month of December?
Firstly, the card recognises that if we have been working hard, our efforts are coming to fruition and success is around the corner.
Secondly, it could indicate that there is a choice to be made and we are at a crossroads between 2 options.
One choice might be to follow a tried and tested route, which is known to be profitable, or the other option is to try something new, different, and perhaps unknown.
The card doesn’t tell us which choice to make, only that we need to use our knowledge, wisdom and intuition to make the decision.
There will be advantages and disadvantages to both choices, so we need to consider these carefully, before making our decision and then follow that path with energy and intention.
Simple pleasures
Christmas
The message of this card could be related to our careers, successes, or material possessions, but it could equally apply to the craziness of Christmas, where one feels the pressure to buy gifts and to do as we’ve always done.
But perhaps there is another option?
- Could we find the time to make a simple handmade gift?
- Or cook a simple, wholesome meal together with loved ones, sharing food in appreciation?
- Could we find the space to go outside and be in nature and watch the clouds, smell the air and admire how Mother Nature is always abundant, regardless of whether we are in the cold, yin season of winter, or the hot, yang season of summer?
Remember that there is no judgement.
It’s good to remind ourselves that regardless of the expectations of the season, the best gifts of time, health and success come from the heart and that which is given and received in love, is the most valuable gift of all.
Questions to ask and journal:
- What decision am I being asked to consider at this time?
- What have I been working on that show signs of achievement and success (even though I may not have seen these signs up to now)?
- When I need to make a decision, how can I remind myself to make my choice with awareness and love?
Wishing you much light and love as always, and a merry Christmas.
