The new moon and partial solar eclipse occur on Tuesday 25th October 2022, and we are in the sign of Scorpio (the Scorpion).
Scorpio – the scorpion
New moons call us to go inward and become thoughtful as we have the opportunity to reset our intentions and plans for the coming month.
Solar eclipses occur when the moon is between the earth and the sun, and the moon casts a shadow on the earth. Solar eclipses always intensify the opportunity for us to make great changes and energetic shifts. Life can feel chaotic and particularly challenging during these times, so be courageous, face your own shadows and the healing will be worth it.
A solar eclipse explained
The archetype of Scorpio is the energy of the mysterious alchemist and is an intense water sign. Water signifies our emotions and Scorpio energy challenges us to face our deepest desires, especially in terms of relationships.
During the month of September, we were called to create balance in our lives. This established a firm emotional foundation for us to stand on.
Now the powerful energy available to us in October asks us to dig deeper, to question what we really want from ourselves and from our relationships.
At the beginning of the month the angels reminded us that our emotional and mental prisons tend to be of our own making – due to our self limiting beliefs. (Watch and read more about the Tarot card reading for the month of October.)
We need to remember that our relationships with others are a mirror reflecting the internal relationship we have with ourselves. Both internal and external relationships do take work and now is the time for us to tune in to our intuition and open our hearts to new ways of loving and being loved – starting with ourselves.
Solar eclipse
Remember that new moons are a time for new beginnings; a time to form new energetic connections and an opportunity start a new chapter.
We may need to break down some walls we have built around our hearts – we put these up to protect ourselves from hurt and pain, but now we are being asked to look at them and question, “Is this what my soul wants for me?” and, “Is the way I act in my relationships (both with myself and with others) for the highest good?”.
Questions for you to journal on:
- What does my soul want to tell me at this time in terms of my relationship with myself?
- What aspects of myself do I like and what aspects of myself are my ‘shadows’?
- What does my soul want for me in terms of my relationships with those closest to me?
Self forgiveness can be hard to practice.
Ho’oponopono is a beautiful Hawaiian prayer that is a simple and deeply healing practice. It allows us to cleanse our minds and bodies of guilt, shame and hurtful memories.
Use this soothing mantra as a tool to help you heal and restore self-love and balance to your heart and mind. Ho’oponopono means to “cause things to move back into balance” or, to “make things right.” This can be practised at any time, but is especially helpful just before going to sleep.
Wishing you much light and love as always
